I work with individuals and couples/relational groups, especially those that don't fit in to conventional boxes. Whether you're navigating identity exploration, life transitions, or struggling with relationships and self-acceptance, I'm here to help you feel understood, validated, and supported. I especially enjoy working with clients in the LGBTQ+ communities, with a focus on those that identify as transgender or nonbinary. I approach therapy with an open mind and a dash of humor because growth doesn’t have to be all serious. My practice embraces a judgment-free zone where your authentic self is always welcome.

Hi, my name is Zafar Sumler and I serve as a Clinical Counselor at a University Student Health Center with over 6 years of counseling experience. I have earned both my undergraduate and MS in Counseling degree at CSU, Fresno. I take pride in being an agent of change, using a mental health approach as the primary guide. My daily inspiration is drawn from my relationship with my family and community. My dedication and commitment to providing effective therapy is rooted in witnessing the Patient's/Client's desired change through the therapeutic relationship.
